Joby Aviation’s electric air taxi flew test trips between JFK and Manhattan in 10 minutes, promising lower noise and zero in-flight emissions. Despite being quieter than helicopters, it’s still loud at takeoff and landing and will likely serve only affluent travelers.
Japan Airlines will trial Chinese-made humanoid robots at Haneda airport to move luggage and cargo, easing severe labor shortages amid booming tourism. Robots run 2–3 hours per charge; humans retain key safety roles. Permanent deployment is planned after 2028.
Spain’s 2025 blackout was wrongly blamed on solar power; investigations found governance and voltage-control failures instead.
