📰 News
Ki's wireless power will zap your kitchen cords to a landfill! Soon your blender, toaster, and air fryer will dance free of their cables. Warning: If your toast starts levitating and singing, it's just enjoying newfound freedom!
It’s official: Your devices are now ghosting you, but with subscription fees first. FTC might finally intervene, because nobody enjoys paying $95 to Peloton just to stop their equipment from looking like overpriced laundry racks.
So the US, UK, and co. just signed a “legally binding” AI treaty. Essentially, it's meant to make sure AI behaves like a proper gentleman, holding doors open and not stealing your data. Compliance is monitored, which is kind of like having your golden retriever guard the steak.
Scientists have put human brain cells into a tiny robot. It's like turning your Roomba into Einstein—or at least Frankenstein Jr. While they're aiming to study brain-computer interfaces, I'm just hoping these robots don’t start demanding WiFi passwords!
Scientists use Doritos dye to make skin transparent! At last, guilt-free snacking with a side of X-ray vision. Who knew our fave junk food could double as sci-fi tech? So now your veins AND arteries can pop like your tastebuds!
NASA's dilemma: Stick with the old heat shield and hope for the best, or redesign and delay Artemis II. With four astronauts on board, the stakes are sky-high. Let's hope they don’t "skip" the safety checks this time!
In a nutshell: AI can now handle developer drudgery while you nap under your desk. All Hands AI raised $5 million to build open-source code-writing robots. So, next time you whine about unit tests, an AI might just roll its circuits.
Back from extinction, northern bald ibis are flying from Austria to Spain, led by scientists in a tiny plane. Talk about migratory mentorship! These birds are literally following their foster parents to Spain—probably wondering where the in-flight peanuts are.
NaNoWriMo defending AI as an accessibility tool didn't just open a can of worms—they unleashed an entire worm festival! Critics say AI is a writing Frankenstein, while NaNoWriMo insists it’s just improving accessibility. More drama than Shakespeare and more resignations than a reality show!
Zyxel's new vulnerabilities are giving hackers an all-you-can-hack buffet, with severity ratings of 9.8 and 8.1 out of 10. They’re like the Swiss cheese of cybersecurity—full of holes! Remember, patch now or enjoy the free drama later!
☠️ Postmortem of the day
In 2013, a temporary network partition in the redis cluster used for billing operations, caused a massive resynchronization from slaves. The overloaded master crashed and when it was restarted, it started up in read-only mode. The auto-recharge component in This resulted in failed transactions from Twilio's auto-recharge service, which unfortunately billed the customers before updating their balance internally. So the auto-recharge system continued to retry the transaction again and again, resulting in multiple charges to customer's credit cards.

Toggle dark mode on your site? Easy peasy! It’s just CSS, JavaScript, and the illusion that darkness hides the coding sins. Click the button, change to dark mode, feel like a hacker. Return to light mode and... hmm, let’s not.
