Attackers are hiding malicious JavaScript in GitHub, npm, and VS Code packages using invisible Unicode variation selectors. These look like blank lines but decode into executable payloads at runtime, likely AI-generated, making manual review and traditional defenses much less effective.
Scientists achieved two breakthroughs: Australian lab Cortical Labs taught 200,000 human neurons on a chip to play Doom, while US firm Eon Systems simulated a fruit flyโ€™s brain. These raise possibilities for medical research and brain emulation, but also ethical concerns about consciousness and control.
